How to choose your Botswana circuit?

The principle guiding our itineraries is simple: one lodge per region, a minimum of two to three nights in each location, as distances between safari zones are measured in hours of rough terrain or light flights. To cover the three major sectors—Chobe, Okavango Delta, and Central Kalahari or Makgadikgadi—you should plan around ten full days on the ground. Our 8 to 12-day circuits allow you to combine two prime regions, typically Chobe and Okavango, with a possible extension to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side from our Kasane base.

Different circuit types

Wildlife safari remains the thread running through most of our journeys: our wildlife and safari circuits take you to observe the vast herds of Chobe elephants, the packs of Linyanti wild dogs, and the aquatic fauna of the delta by mokoro. For those seeking silence and wide open spaces rather than simply ticking off the Big Five, our itineraries in the Kalahari and salt pans offer nights under the stars, walks with the San Bushmen, and camping on the Makgadikgadi pans during the dry season.

What is the best season?

The dry season, from May to October, remains the most rewarding period for safari: vegetation thins out, animals concentrate around the waterholes of Chobe and Linyanti, and daytime temperatures hover around 25 to 28°C. July and August are cool at night—bring a fleece for dawn game drives. The Okavango Delta flood reaches its peak between June and August, the ideal period for mokoro navigation. From November to March, the rainy season greens the Kalahari and triggers antelope births, with spectacular storm skies.
